This long writing silence has been brought to you by the silent letter "P" as in I have pneumonia! And by the number 2 and 57, the number of steps I can take without having to lie down, and the number of remedies I'm employing!
I thought I had the flu. I had a horrible cough, so I went to the doctor, and she said,
"Do you hear that rattling sound?"
And I said, "That sound, like I'm eating Pop Rocks?"
And she said, "Congratulations, you've got pneumonia! Tell her what she's won, MIke!"
"Well doctor, she's won a fabulous new chest X-ray! And an all-expense-paid trip to the hospital!"
"Ho, ho, hold on there Mike, I'm sure I don't need to go to the hospital. There's other fabulous prizes you can win there like MRSA and antibiotic-resistant bacteria. I think I'd rather convalesce in my house, if possible."
So the doctor sent me home with oxygen, nebulizer, antibiotics, steroids and the like. I'm weak as a new-born kitten, but on the mend. Then of course about this time Will's asthma decided it was feeling neglected, after such a long time without a flare up. So we've been nebulizer buddies, and urgent care buddies. It's so important to find common activities to deepen the bond with your children. Sure I'd rather have signed up for a pottery class together, but it's also been a lot of fun to lie listless and practice our synchronized hacking.
I'll try to write again soon, but lifting my fingers on and off the keyboard feels like....something difficult. Insert relevant simile there, because my brain just stopped working.
Well, gracious! Take care of yourself and get well soon, you and Will both!

Pewmonia! AAAH. Am glad you are alive. Wasn't it even walking pneumonia (which I have had 3x and lived to tell about it)? Hope you are both better STAT!

Oh dear! I'm glad you're on the mend. Sounds like you've been sick as a dog.

Oooh, I'm so sorry. Glad you're on the mend though. In our house I'm being deliberately, brittlely optomistic that allll the illness we've had so far does not make any sort of statement about what the rest of the winter is going to be like.
Lalala! We're all healthy now!

Oh, ick! I have a tiny little cold and have been whining about it until I read this. Now I will buck up because you definitely win the illness contest.
Also, the whole "What does she win, Mike?" made me giggle.
Take it easy. Pneumonia is unbelievably awful. The last time I had it, I remember lying on the couch, watching movies and then going to take a nap after each movie because I was too tired from trying to follow the plot.
